we've been gone forever!

We're alive, we're alive! However mom has been neglecting to give us any blog time this summer, something about being "too busy with renovations, starting a new business, raising a puppy and nine hens, feeding facebook and twitter and her other blogs" - we don't understand much but she's the boss!

She did manage to get a video of us three playing on the deck a couple of weeks ago, how about that!

Thank you for still visiting and rooooing us, we couldn't ask for better 4-legged friends!

Mom took a few pics of us on our castle grounds but has had no time to upload anything (so she says) - we'll just fart her into submission, he he.

Kidding. We stink much less now... Less stress = less gassy mess!

We love our new paradise. We have loads of room inside the house and even more outside, we go for exciting walks (we saw a big DEER the other day! our first!) and lots of people come to give us cookies visit. I'm even being trained to be off leash on the farm and I ROCK at it!

Akitas need jobs, you know. Maika's job is to lust after prey so she can never be trusted off the leash, unlike moi. I know how to listen and I love being a good boy!

Oh dog, where to begin!

We've been here for five days now and it's the best place EVAR! Even if the parental unit is neck-deep in renovations, demo work and unpacked boxes piled high, we find it all terribly exciting and each evening we pass out cold. No more stinky loud city, tiny dirty balcony and 18-hour siestas for us, no sir!

We've been spending a lot of time outside (I get to be loose as I listen like a good boy, I never stray and am becoming an excellent farm-slash-guard dog. My duty is to welcome everyone with kisses and hugs, lots of them!

Maika, well she's on a leash at all times because all she wants to do is chase the horses, the cats, the birds... Sheesh. Girls, eh!

Our 1/4 acre park is being built, as is our new deck - oh boy, we can't WAIT! Mommy posted a bunch of pics on her other blog (some of them have us in it) so if you want to go see, click HERE!

Giant news! Giant news!

More like French Mastiff-sized news... aka Dogue De Bordeaux! Yes yes, we're getting a little brother at the end of July, how exciting is that? We'll be moved into our farm by then so we'll all have space to play until we drop!

Mom and Dad visited the little guy today... hims 3.5 weeks old and his name is Dante, after the famous Italian poet:

We may not be around much the next few weeks as we are moving and need to settle into our new place, but we promise an action-packed year! Now the Bubblegum Dogs have three times more rooooo powah!

Thirteen days to go until we move!

Well, that's 91 in dog days, much too long for us! BOL!

Mom is busy packing and getting the dog boarding business things in order, dad is busy with his new job so we're not getting much action lately... s'ok though, we don't get on so well with hot sticky summer days. Sleeping through it all is the way to go!

It'll be great to finally be out there, though... It's apparently very green and very quiet - I hope we won't be bored! Oh well as long as there's plenty to pee on, we'll be fine. Roooo!

Mom's thinking of putting our blog on hold for the summer although we're not to fond of that idea. Something about "not having any time to visit other dog blogs" or something like that - she thinks nobody will like us if we don't start being more social!

Please help her change her mind!!

What? It's tiring being cool like we are! One must make the most of 12-hour siestas, you know...

What do you guys think?

The other day we saw these strange creatures walking past and luckily mom had her camera to snap a photo... they were walking pretty fast though!

They are "mexican hairless dogs" or Xoloitzcuintli, for those with a penchant for tongue-twisters. Um. Well they look weird and when they're close you can see long straggling hairs here and there, and moles and warts and stuff. Ugh.

No doubt they freeze in our cold Canadian winters and they burn under the hot summer sun so really, what's the point?

No fluff to decorate mom's soup or pad her bare feet?

Pffft. Sissies!

Yep, we love our life with mom at home all day but we sure miss our 8-hour siestas... I guess a dog can't have everything, right? Roooo!

Momma captured our expressions perfectly the other morning... BOL!

** drum roll and tail wags! **

OK folks, we're sort-of back while mom tries to get her ducks in a row (ha ha, it's chickens we'd rather have as friends, please take note!) so while Maika is out smelling the flowers I can sneak in a bit of news!

First, mom and dad bought a house - their very own!

Second, it's not jot just a house... it's a 12-acre farm! Yes! With a big barn, a stable, a chicken coop and acres of space for us to pee all over - woohoo! Moving day is June 26th and we can't WAIT! It's not lost in the middle of nowhere, either: it's in a lovely town not too far from the Big City so this leads to the really big news...

Mom's opening a fabulous luxury dog boarding hotel in our house!

Can you believe it?

Both parents working from home (well dad has to travel part-time) and lots of friends visiting all the time, so we never have to be lonely again - all this in our castle and kingdom! She plans to open her business in August so she's going to be very busy until then with the move, the renovations, the planning and just enjoying being with us so much.

Well... She did lose her job two weeks ago so she's been home since then and from the giant smile on her face this is a very good thing even if we don't get our daily 9-hour siestas anymore - we're adapting!

So that's basically it. Lots of happiness, lots of dreams coming true, lots of warm spring weather and oh! Did we mention mom's getting some fancy chickens so we can have all the fresh eggs we want?

Life couldn't get any more brilliant than this!

Ooops Maika's back from her flower-smelling, time to go kiss the bitch. We promise to come by and visit your blogs this week!! We miss you guys.
